Porcelain dishes are sufficient

When buying porcelain dinnerware, pay attention to the following points:

1. Make sure you choose a normal market. First of all, you can check the name and variety of the product which is written in the product packaging or the documents in the box. The state states that when ceramic dishes are immersed in 4% acetic acid, the amount of dissolved lead must not exceed 7 mg / l and the amount of dissolved cadmium must not exceed 0.5 mg / l. The products of ordinary manufacturers can basically satisfy this requirement;

2. Pay attention to the delicacy of the dishes, touch the surface with your hands to see if the inner wall is smooth and clean, and if the shape is straight, the surface of the ceramic with thorns, stains or even cracks that carry contained in the glaze it overflows easily and is not suitable for the table.

3. If there is a special smell with the nose;

4. Do not buy ceramic dinnerware that is too bright. To make the color lighter, the icing color manufacturer adds some heavy metal additives. The lighter the color of the dishes, the easier the heavy metal exceeds the standard;

5. Colored enamel and underglaze dinnerware must be purchased with raw materials and strict process control.

Distinction porcelain dinnerware

Porcelain dishes can be differentiated according to the four points “Look”, “Listen”, “Compare” and “Try”.

1. see

It is important to take a close look at the porcelain from top to bottom, inside and out. Check if the glazed surface of the porcelain is smooth and smooth, with or without scratches, punctures, black spots and air bubbles; second, if the shape is regular and deformed; third, if the image is defective; Fourthly, if the bottom is flat and needs to be laid smooth and without burrs.

2. Listen

Just hear the sound of light tapping on the porcelain. If the sound is clear and comfortable, it means that the porcelain body is fine and dense and there are no cracks.

3. Compare

Just compare. To match the porcelain, you need to compare the accessories to see if the shape and decoration of the image are consistent. Especially the full set of exquisite blue and white or blue and white porcelain, because the color of blue and white changes with the firing temperature, so the same blue and white porcelain, the color is dark or light, a set of different or even dozens of cold porcelain, like each piece. There are obvious differences in the color of blue and white, and this porcelain set is far inferior.

4. Try it

It’s a test coverage, a fit test, a test. Some porcelains have a lid, other porcelains are made up of multiple components. When choosing porcelain, don’t forget to try on the lid and try putting the components together to see if they fit.

Through the four methods above, you will know what kind of ceramic dinnerware is good. If you decide to buy online, you must choose a shopping center that can return and exchange goods unconditionally, so that you can return them even in case of problems, to reduce your losses.

Difference between porcelain and ceramic

Ceramic is a compound word and porcelain and ceramic are two different substances. The main difference lies in the use of raw materials and the cooking temperature:

1. Use raw materials

The iron content of ceramic rims is generally above 3%, while the iron content of porcelain rims is generally below 3%. Ceramic can be fired with normal clay. This type of green paste cannot become porcelain. When fired at 1200 ° C, it will be melted in glass. Porcelain needs to select a certain material as raw, with the low firing temperature it can become ceramic, which is called white ceramic; when it reaches the required temperature it turns into porcelain.

2. Cooking temperature

The minimum firing temperature of the ceramic is lower than 800 ° C and the maximum one is about 1100 ° C. Due to the low sintering temperature, the green body is not fully sintered, the sound is dull when hitting, the hardness of the casing is poor, and some can mark grooves even with a steel knife. Porcelain is usually divided into low temperature porcelain, medium temperature porcelain and high temperature porcelain. The firing temperature of low temperature porcelain is below 1100 , the firing temperature of medium temperature porcelain is between 1100-1200 , and that of high temperature porcelain is above 1200 , some reach about 1400 . The porcelain carcass is substantially sintered and the sound when striking is clear and it is difficult to make groove marks on the surface of the carcass with ordinary steel knives.

3. Extended reading – Ceramic glaze

Ceramics can be divided into two categories: glazed and unglazed. Ceramic is mostly unglazed or low temperature glazed, while porcelain is mostly glazed. Glazed porcelain is divided into high-temperature glaze (firing temperature above 1250 , lead-free, bright glaze like mirror, no lead-free phenomenon), medium-temperature glaze (1100 ~ 1250 ) and low-temperature glaze (800 – 1100 ), there is lead in the middle and there is silver fog on the surface which is anti-lead and the brightness is low). Porcelain glaze can be fired at high temperature with the carcass at one time, or a low temperature glaze can be applied to the carcass at high temperature once cooked and fired a second time at low temperature.
